Page Outline in Xara Graphic Designer 5

Is there a way to remove the page outline?
No matter what page size I specify they all get a small black outline...

Welcome to TalkGraphics Marchitect_nc.
Xara Graphics Designer 5 is quite an old version of Xara so I can't test this. Xaras pdf exports have had quite a lot of work over recent versions. Perhaps you could attach one of your xar files here so we could see what the export looks like on athe latest version?

By the way if I choose another zoom value in Acrobat Reader I don't see that page outline.

I'm trying to insert it into a Word document...it comes in with that border around it.

A better workaround (which you will be not be able to do with your version) is to export the image as .svg and use insert picture which becomes scalable in Word. Attached works for me.

I can see a page border in the PDF, but only when I go to print the PDF; it does though work in Word with Insert/ Object, but not with any image quality.

There is a rectangle behind the logo that has an outline.

I don't think you have the option in your version of Xara but I would convert the lines to shapes. I will include a PDF file. Also you should be able to copy from Xara and paste into Word.

Something else I notice if I zoom in Acrobat to fit the logo to the browser width, the thick line is half over the thinner lines. This is the way Xara handles line widths. A contour shape might be more exact should you decide have your logo appear at a larger size.

And for your heavy lines, use the Mitre Join option to eliminate the rounded corners.

Using Xara Xtreme 5, the oldest I have installed:

Drag+Select over the logo and ensure you do not include the White Background rectangle.
Copy
In MS Word, Paste.
Select and Corner+Drag to Scale.

Easier in later versions but the method is similar.

I notice also that your lines are not connected. This may help as well. Select two of your heavy line then in outline view, drag the end over one of the lines over the beginning of the other. The cursor changes to a + and the lines will be joined.
