Default Blue Print for a Stereogram

I have done dozens of Yin & yangs over the years. This is one of my favorites.

That has amazing depth in the drawing. I can see why that is a favorite.

Love it. The angle, depth, linework, and color scheme all make it special.

The funny thing is that the first time I looked at it, it just popped out but when I tried a second, third, fourth time, I couldn't see it anymore. My eyes, it seems, are being tricked by the undulating lines in front.

Hmm? Boy. The stereogram is basically two stereograms but each using the same depth image. The while outlines give the hidden image more precise detail.

And seem to have been confusing my eyes. But good news, this morning, after a night's rest, it all popped right out again! :-)

Gary. Just a novel question. What is the best way to view a stereogram? Presently I hold an iPad very close to my nose, then pull back very slowly. Sometimes that works, other times not so much.

I find it best to defocus my eyes and wait for my brain to see the image - sometimes this is quick, sometimes not.. and it is not a constant for any one image, sometimes an easy one becomes difficult

too close does not work any more than too far away, we are all different in this respect
