    Default WebP image support

There was a post way back in 2011 asking for WebP support https://www.talkgraphics.com/showthr...-Support/page2

(Here's a link to explanation of this Google file format https://developers.google.com/speed/webp)

Back in 2011 not many sites were using this file format, but today most of the news websites I visit use this file format for large images. And today's monitors are larger and many 4K.

But 9 years later there is still no WebP import and export filter.

Is it possible we will see support for this file format anytime soon?

@Xara, yes it might be a large overhaul of the HTML Filter coding but why not?

At the same time, do look at SVG rendering of simple shapes. Yes we have SVG Import and Export filters there and working well now, you need to go the extra step and incorporate SVG into the HTM directly.

    Finally, work on rotated text.

The days of taking a blob on a Xara design page and just outputting PNGs or JPEGs are long-gone as Google PageSpeed will hammer you out of any modest ranking on the slow download time and large file payloads involved.

Take poll position with slick and crisp web pages.

Including image buttons. Do away with them.

Update. I had Designer Pro X open and that was causing part of the problem. I was successful in installing the patch.

But I am not able to export an image as Webp. The dialog comes up and I enter a name but nothing happens. Is there a size limitation? The image I tried to export is 3000 x 2400 pixels.

I tried exporting a one page website with the same image and it exports the image as JPG and at 96dpi.

And I seem to have lost the ability to drag and drop an image from the desktop in Pro+. I tried rebooting and Run as Admin and I am still having problems.

No problems here Gary. Drag & Drop still works as expected.
