Opinions on slide shows on phone variants

My website is picture heavy by choice. For Android and iPhones are the slideshows really worth it? Or perhaps a click on a thumbnail or two. Your opinion please and Thanks

They can work, but I only use them with auto-scroll, maybe upto 10-15 images and often mix them with other photos for media variety:
