The main Toolbar which was top left of work page has disappeared and I cannot for the life of me either find it or restore it.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Go to the Window Menu and scroll down to 'Toolbar' and make sure its box is ticked.

if by any chance what bob suggests does not work it may have got 'lost' off screen, in which case pressing reset will bring it back but will also remove any bar customisations you have made
