Default Days of old. Days of excitement. Days of WOW!

In a trawl through old emails I came across this. I still remember that day of discovery that started a very long journey..

    "Dear Paul
Thank you for pre-ordering Xara X at the Computer Arts Live 2000 show
    last month.

Unfortunately, the wait is not over yet, but in the meantime you might
want to take a look at the Xara X beta version which you can download
free of charge from our new website at:
    http://www.xara.com/downloads/xarax/

The brush-stroking feature has been disabled but other than that it is
fully functional. Any bug reports are welcomed.

The final release will be available in October 2000, suitable for
    Windows 95/98/NT4/2000.

    We apologise for the delay.

    Kind regards

    Danielle Cartwright
    Marketing Assistant
    Xara Ltd"

I assume that Xara X was Xara Studio 1.0

    you keep emails that old

I was three years after you - 2003 - a computer rag [forget which one] had a trial software CD attached, as was common then, which included a trial of xara x...

I needed a vector editor to complement my raster photoshop elements 2 in order to make asset for my toon boom studio, having just begun a long journey in animation; xara x was ideal...

xara has since gone in another direction and I wish it well; toon boom has become a world leader in class... I have aged 17 years

I just happened to have an old backup and I thought I'd take a look.

I have (had) a habit of emailing myself interesting links. Very few links from that period are valid - not just the link but whether the organisation or personal website still exists.

I have a lot of work emails and it really surprises me what I was doing back then that I'd completely forgotten about.
