    Default Free wifi

So My apartment is close to the train station that broadcasts free internet. I am only a few meters away from getting the signal. Is there a way I can tap into this by using an antenna or some sort usb cable? It would be ideal for watching movies and browsing. I would not be doing any banking or personal stuff on it.

Do you have a WiFi router? And if yes, can you pick up the signal with your router?

Just be sure you have a really good internet protection program running and that your protection settings on your router are the strongest security. Open WiFi connections can be an open door into your computer.

I agree, your right, maybe not worth the hassle. I think for $35 a month I can get 300mbps fibe speed, unlimited in my building. I think it is better option.

Yes we get that here and it is perfect for streaming. But the same rules apply for maximum security settings on your router.

I have a Netgear combo router and cable modem that supports DOCSIS 3.0.

free wifi often blocks certain sites [eg forums such as this, or youtube] in the interests of 'fair usage', either by limiting your time or bandwidth or blocking completely, it depends what the provide the service for; plus it may well be slow anyway

this certainly the case where I live - if I get on a train and use their wifi, TG is not available and the rteason given is that forums/chat groups would take up too much resouece and slow things down for everyone else, who are are tryiny to do important things [check connection times; buy tickets; get covid info....]
