Default Preview when using Open Recent Files > Backups

Trying to locate recently saved file > backup leaves a whole lot to be desired.

Every time you go through the drill you have to guess at the backup and if it is not the one you want, then you have to go through the entire process again.

Life is TOO SHORT for this.

Is there any way that you can see a thumbnail preview of what is in the backup?

Gary, when you use File > Recent > Backups, the Open dialog is MS Windows-driven so you can use Ctrl+Wheelie to change the view of the files. A number of which give you a preview.

OK That certainly works. And I discovered an even better way, there is a button top right Change Your View that lets you select from the same Ctrl-wheel choices and also offers Extra Large Icons.
