    It Definitely looks like a version bug, I will install the current version to see.

    Concerning your previous comment about two variants being overkill.
    In what way could it be a problem?

    I created a larger one (1600width) because clients often have large resolution and I want the images to turn out well.
    1920x1080 is pretty standard nowadays and many have higher.

    One variant @ 640px & Main at 1280px.
    Scale to Fit Width upper to 1920px.

    Clearly, you have to experiment.
