wow !!!THANKS SOOOOO MUCH FOR THE VIDEO
    1. I never made layers on purpose ... they just happened
i think when I made copies, of existing photos/text boxes etc
    and then repasted

Often, the pasted items would 'disappear' (well -- NOT appear)
and I would 'find' them hidden in a 'lower' layer

ok - I will go learn layers
this is my first website using XARA
    this is a GREAT program
had been making by hand coding since 1990? and moved to NetObjects v.6 (1993?) all the way to v15

    anyway - WILL learn layers
betting something in a 'hidden' layer was causing my grief
but odd the right align ... sort of fixed it

I really really appreciate the time you took to make me a video

    ps
the java error - have no idea where that came from
    I never added any java
I think from one of the 'fancy' photo things I fetched from the online gallery

also - the different cursor types? Not done by me on purpose
I did notice it and it confused me as well
    will research that also!

Glad to of been of assistance 3D. Layers can be a pain to grasp as can be the three types of Text in Xara. But they make things so much simpler when you grasp the concept

You have a quite a few gremlins in your document - it was easier to rebuild your mobile variant than to chase each one down and fix it.

    Some pointers to help:

    1. Consolidate your content (unless you need to do otherwise) on the MouseOff layer - I would not spread content across additional layers or place layers below the MouseOff layer, unless for a specific reason.

    2. For the About page, for each person I would use a Text Area (not Text Column) and place the photo over the text with 'Repel text under'.

    3. Delete you mobile variant - copy and paste the content from the attached XAR.

    4. Create a mobile text style (whole pixels) - it makes it easier when your format text.

If this works you can adjust the style, page colours etc., to be consistent with your main desktop variant.

Should you still see errors, I would rework your desktop variant.

Hopefully, this gets you over the line.

DID NOT DO ONPURPSE - not even know how that happened

did not know the difference -- we will learn - TY

@TD: Try this - delete your mobile variant from your original XAR; check the desktop previews without error (else you have a gremlin in that too). Next create a new mobile variant for your XAR, select everything on each page of the mobile variant, apply 'stop sharing with variants' and delete all content.

Check your desktop variant still previews without error, then copy and paste in place from the clean mobile variant.

Hopefully, you finish with a clean site!

    sounds ok
    1 obvious question
you said to delete my mobile variant of existing .xar
I saw DISCARD as an option when I rt clicked the mobile variant tab
is that how I 'delete' it?

hmmm... how do you make a mobile variant>?
I think mine came via a template when I made the original site

guess now that I am getting smarter??? I can make a WHOLE new site
    one piece at a time?
but, still want to know how to delete and make a mobile variant as you suggested

You can add and delete variants through Utilities / Web Variants / - the default for a mobile variant is 480px (w) and seems to work OK (on my sites).

I have removed the variant in your original file; desktop worked without error. I have created a new mobile variant, stopped sharing with variants and deleted all content.

You have a clean doc, so open up both copy and paste in place.
