Looked through the documents unsuccessfully.

How can I replace the text on a menu item with a simple icon-type graphic?

As in a nav bar button?

If the symbol you want to use is part of a font, you can copy and paste it to replace the button name.

But I tried copying and pasting a vector graphic and that does not work.

Here is a workaround: You can create a graphic home link button, but for it to be part of a Xara NavBar, the home button needs to be grouped with some text in the normal way. However if you make the text the same colour as the graphic you will not see it.



Your standard link button can be whatever you like. Marquee select both buttons and create a NavBar. You will see you have the option for the first button to be different from the others - the same could also be done for the last button.

You could of course have a sequence of individual buttons with different graphics (and not use the Xara NavBar).

Take three square or other images and place in a line the height of your required NavBar.

On each, create a Text column, centred with a Space.
Group each image and space.
Clone all of the images and place on the MouseOver layer.
Colour, fade or otherwise tweak your MouseOver image.
Select everything and Soft-group.
Add a #Link.
Finally, create your Navbar, picking First and last buttons different.

You then have a three-image NavBar that you can add the correct links to.
More than three, you have to clone the NavBar and change images as needed.
