Default align layer #1 text to background guidelines

Let's say I'm making labels and I've drawn background guidelines and I've locked them.

Then, on layer #1, I add text.

Is it possible to center layer #1's text based upon the background guidelines without moving the guidelines?

    I hope this makes sense.

    Thanks.

Bruce, create a Text Area or Text Column that Snaps to Guides and then use Centre Justify.

    Well, that sure was easy.

    Thanks for your help.

P.S. I really like Xara but for us old guys the dark interface sure is hard to read....I did convert it to a lighter color user interface but the program had some issues and I reverted back to the dark interface.
