Evocative scenes from the Battle of Britain! Great work again!

Technical question (by layman): Why the yellow highlights on the Messerschmitt? Doesn't that make it a clearer target?

the Luftwaffe used the yellow markings originally in order to identify their planes and avoid them being shot down by friendly fire - on that basis I don't think they would have been that way in the battle of britain, but I am no expert.. it was more likely used in ground strafing when low flying could make identification [quickly] more of an issue

Thanks everyone for your kind remarks.
Joe, handrawn is correct, they were to prevent friendly fire. Both sides lost many planes to friendly fire.
handrawn, they were painted before and during Battle of Britain in yellow. Allied aircraft used to paint white lines under their wings to prevent friendly fire.
