Advice about XARA WEB DESIGNER PREMIUM

Hi All,

I hope I have posted this in the right place..... Could I ask three questions about XARA WEB DESIGNER PREMIUM before I purchase it please?
(I want to rebuild my old website which was originally built using Frontpage 2003 and I want to know if I am able to do some of the same things with Xara!!) 😉

1) Can I add sound to each page (when it opens) My site plays a different Jingle (mp3) when you open each page?
2) I have a rotating (animated) Page Title on each page can I do similar using Xara?
3) My main page links down the left side to other pages on my site, Is that easy to do?

I like the look of Xara Web Designer as it looks like a modern Frontpage to me (WYSIWYG)

Sorry, but you cannot edit .html/.htm pages in Xara WDP. You can import the various assets (text, images) directly from the website but you will have to reorganize them and rebuild all navigation modalities, as well as all animations. Easy enough in XWDP but it will take you some time. The software allows WYSIWYG designing and only upon publishing will it generate the .htm code.

Pete, to answer your questions.

1 - Yes. Drop your MP3 onto the design page and pick auto-play. You will be hated for the rest of Eternity unless your consider autoplay essential.
2 - Again, yes. Is this forever as it seems so very 80s? You can add your current animated GIFs. You can create new animations in Xara directly. Probably better to also buy Xara 3D - cheap but powerful.
3 - Yes, easy. And far superior as you can add rollovers and other animations to complete your hat-trick.

@ukjingles. Greetings Pete. Retired long time broadcaster here. Thanks for the trip of memories from PAMS and Chum jingles.
I’m sure you’ll be very impressed with the offerings from Xara.
May I suggest you explore the retro elements that are available within the Xara framework. Buttons can be made with a more retro style.
It doesn’t take much to project the feeling of retro in modern styling.
