    Default One Old, One New

Two drawings, one updated I did almost 20 years ago of a Blackbird. I used a photo of the plane as a reference for that one, something I haven't done for many years now for obvious reasons. The second image is a quick drawing of a Miles M100 Student trainer.
Student, pilot sit side by side. Only one built.

The blackbird is so wonderfully sinister. And I am not sure I would ever want to fly in a plane that was the only one of its kind. But as always, incredible images.

    Great drawings as always Gray.
The image I had of a Black Bird taking off from Bein Hoa Air Base is etched in my mind. It sat at the end of the runway for 20-30 minutes just rumbling. Then it let out a gigantic roar and began rolling down the runway. Moving at a blazing speed and just a few hundred feet above the ground and just pass the end of the runway and the airbase, it went vertical and disappeared in seconds. Will never forget that. Keep then coming Gray your work is always inspiring to see.

Yeah well I've flown most every type of ultra-lite there is which I guess you could call sort of experimental, but never one of them was totally one of a kind.

Gary, the Blackbird was an awesome looking plane. When you think it was designed and built in the 60's. Makes you wonder what's on the drawing boards now.
Sunland, I remember watching one perform at an airshow years ago. Fantastic plane. Great memories.
Joe, do you still fly ultralights? I haven't flown a plane since the 60's.
    Larry, Boy, thanks.
    Rik, thanks.

No Gray I haven't flown in about 10 years. You see I am confined to a wheelchair any more so my flying days are over. But I have to say I still think about it a lot and that is probably why I am fascinated with your airplanes. I know I have never flown the likes of what you draw, but I can picture myself in one. Thanks for your drawings!!!!
