    Default Armstrong Whitworth X-Plane

The Armstrong Whitworth AW-49 was a concept that didn't reach fruition. Nevertheless it was an interesting design.A couple of illustrations of what the plane would have looked like.

Interesting concept, when I looked at the first picture I thought it was a jet then looked at the second picture and saw the prop old eyes I guess!!!!

Seems like a bizarre design and it must be from around the time of the P-38 lightning.

At least the lightning uses the twin tail design to good purpose with the twin engines, freeing up the central fuselage and compensating for the extra weight of the twin tail arrangement.

So well done. Love the sunlight on the cloud in the second illustration.

Well done Gray. I'm glad you did both views because I feel like the second one describes the plane better. Love both.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.
