I just checked this out and it would appear that Xara simply doesn't import the GPS exif information, so it can't possibly export it !

You can "manipulate" a photo within Xara and Flatten and mostly retain the EXIF data, but, there will always be exceptions.
Try Clipviewing two overlapping images. Which one wins?

The simplest would be to retain the original, manipulate it in Xara then Export Image.
In MS Windows, you can right-click > Properties >Details and edit in or out the EXIF data.

If just checking, I use the Vivaldi browser and right-click on an image and pick Image Properties.
For fuller detail just then select Copy data to Clipboard to view everything.
Try with http://www.opanda.com/en/pe/images/sample_001.jpg, the image in http://www.opanda.com/en/pe/sample.htm.

For lots of work, you need something like the paid-for Opanda's PowerExif, http://www.opanda.com/en/pe/index.html.
The free viewer is IExif, http://www.opanda.com/en/download/IExif_2.3_en.exe. Be careful if you go through the site as it has a minefield of rubbish Download links for badly advertised rubbish - worse than Magix.
other EXIF editors are available. If you find one for PortableApps, let me know.

It might depend on the kinds of edits made.

I used a photo taken with a Canon DSLR and used the Photo Tool > Photo Heal Tool to remove a gondola and the top of the third balloon and the EXIF info is still there.

But as soon as I flatten the photo, the EXIF information is wiped.

I also used the Photo Tool > Select Colors to Enhance and the EXIF info disappeared.

I used the FX > Color > Color Balance and the info remained. Same with FX Polarized filter. And several other effects and as long as I did not flatten the image the EXIF info remained.

By using "Photo Tool > Perspective Correction" the EXIF is removed as well.

    Wish Granted.
The latest incarnation XD17 leaves the exif and geolocation info intact.
    Bravo Xara !
