Hello everyone.

I searched many forums and the Magix online world for support on how to get a Xara website to get httpS. Unfortunately all the answers are very technical for me and, in the end, I still don't understand if it is not possible to have a secure https in the xara domain.

The software I use is X Designer pro, and it's great, my question is more about the domain, so can someone give me a clear and direct answer, if it is possible to have secure HTTPS in the paid service domain of the host and the Xara?

If so, are there any clean and understandable tutorials or manuals?

Sorry if I'm not asking this question on the right forum. In that case, could someone redirect me to the appropriate forum or website?

Xara has no issue with making a secure website (https://) but I don't believe the Hosting that comes with Magix is capable of having a secure site, so you'll need to change to another Web Hosting Company. Can someone else confirm this please?

No, I looked into it and one of the Xara team members told me that it is not possible. You need hosting that can provide you the feature.

Thank you. I already suspected it would be like this. Much to my regret, as I never had any problems with Xara's hosting service, but now because of Covid and medical information forms, as well as teleconsultation payments, etc ... it has to be.
Can anyone advise me of a reliable service that I can buy, or rather, free, a domain?

I have a payed domain in xara (2 in fact) do you know how I can do it, or where I can get help

i don't know where you are but in UK 123reg give free .co.uk domains [for first year] - dreamhost may do same in US - but usually anything free is limited, free hosting tends to be unreliable

I´m in Portugal, so I will search in my country, or Europe, UK is fine, I thrust a lot UK services

I use OVH to host my VPS and I have used their web hosting services (Alojamento Perso) in the past. The firm is one of biggest players in Europe, and has served me well. Their price-quality ratio is very good (see: https://www.ovh.pt/alojamento-partil...do-pessoal.xml). I think https is just an option you turn on in the control panel, but check this with the firm before buying a plan.

Xara can definitely make a website that you can get an SSL assigned to, I don't know if the hosting here lets you, but an external company will.
I read something that suggested it is better to have your server/hosting 'space' in the country you are wanting your website to rank better in. I'm with 1and1/Ionos UK but their server is in Germany. Some SEO says this isn't as good as if it was in the UK. I'm not sure how important that is but I thought I'd mention it. I don't think it will be 'huge' - but might be helpful to know.
