There are issues with the light UI, whatever method used to achieve it.

Most annoying; the toolbars won't be drawn correctly when floating.

And some minor quirks like dialogues not rendering as they should (for instance; the colour editor)

But having used Xara Studio from it's first Windows incarnation (1994) I still prefer the Classic interface.

I'd love to have this light gray UI given an overhaul to bring it to the modern and clean UWP interface. I tried to hack the Xara UI an update by using Resource Hacker to binary edit the xaradark.cjstyles file but that's to much of an hassle.

Good examples? FireAlpaca, MS Paint3D come close.

What might help in those cases is to minimize the UI and, next, maximize it again. The toolbars are redrawn and stay put, including those that are floating. At least on my system (Windows 10 Pro). I noticed that the problem mostly occurs when customizing the setup.

would be better if xara implemented a proper user choice of UI, but there you go, they have better things to do...

Meanwhile Inkscape can do this and upgrade to use of 4K resolution.

Oh, I love Inkscape and the look of the UI is much better than Magix's rendition. But ... Xara is much more user friendly and in general is more responsive and speedy. Plus: pressure sensitivity is very natural with Xara, Output (HTML/PDF/JPEG) is much better, multi-page documents and lots more advantages keep me locked in to Xara (Help, help! we're haunted in a castle ...)

I guess the art pen pressure sensitivity is ok [for vector] in xara; the freehand tool on the other hand has a mind of it's own, the directional prompting just gets in the way...
