    Default alt attributes

Can anyone tell me how to add alt attribute to images please as google audit is flagging this up and I would like to get my SEO up from 90 and I believe this may help.
    Thanks

Select the image, right click Web Properties -> Image and then enter text into the Image Caption (Alt Text) field.

PS I'm sure I read somewhere (and it's possibly very outdated) that if you rename the file, before you load it onto your site, then this also helps Google optimise it. So instead of 'image.jpg' and then you only alt-texting it, you name it 'keywordx.jpg' and then alt text it.
