"Renew the update service" message won't go away or work

For a couple months now I've been getting a "Renew the update service" popup appear when I open my Xara Web Designer. The message says to renew the update service and that it will "Install the latest version of the update service for your software" and then it give me a "Start Installation" button. Well, when I click on the start installation button nothing happens. The only thing that happens is that I get a error message when closing web designer with the message saying "Updater has stopped working" and it gives me two choices of "check online for a solution" or "close the program". Neither of these work. A couple days ago I spent $49 to renew the update service thru 5/9/2021 "Renew Update Service – 1 year Xara Web Designer Premium 365". However, little good this does me, I can't update my program because of the problems I just described. What should I do? Thanks, Todd

Until a fix is supplied, this method works well. Either rename the folder, or the 'Service_rel_u_x64_vc12.exe' file itself.
