    Default Another Layers question.

Is it possible to have the same layer, on different pages, in different display states.

I design membrane keypad artworks over several pages.

I need to show a "Mech" layer, on the page that shows the dimensions.
Hide it on the "Graphics" page, but still have it (hidden) to check registration before printing.

At the moment when I toggle the "Mech" layer on one page it follows the same on the other(s).

in options on the page size tab there are two tickboxes at the bottom headed 'document' - adjusting these may do what you want

I've not come across a toggle Show/Hide effect the same named layer across pages on any version.

Change the name of the Layer so it is different on all pages and try that.
Solo select the layer on one page and then select and hide all its Objects.
Delete the Mech layer on the Graphics page. Copy the Mech layer from Dimension to Graphics, check, then delete it again (simply Ctrl+Z).

    @ handrawn

Thanks for the pointer to those menu settings.
Turns out I had "Same layers on all pages in document" ticked.
When un-ticked I can toggle the eye-ball on one page and the others stay put.

    @ Acorn

Erm, I hear what you say, but I'll have to get back to you if I try out your suggested method.
For now, "handrawn" has nailed it.

those two settings are ones i use a lot when building asset in PDF

having layer items hidden on some pages and visible on others is par for the course for me

I am glad it worked for you
