    Bug Statcounter Code not showing in editor Xara Pro X 16

    Hi

    I do hope i have posted in the correct thread not sure where i was supposed to post to to find answers?

    Can anyone find out why I cannot see the counter when I install the code from Statcounter
    into a place holder.

    I never had any problems before, you can see an example working fine at www.romseyreclamtion.com bottom right hand corner shows the visible counter

    I have over about 28 websites that use this counter, I never had any problems installing the counter before? now since the latest update with Xara Pro X 16 last month I think it was October 2019. when i copy the install code from statcounter specifically for Xara code ( there is a choice of install code scripts form statcounter) and the list shows all web editors I chose Xara and the standard code to install all i get is 9 small squares to look at in the editor, normally i see the actual number that i configured in statcounter and place it in the bottom right hand corner.

    i have successfully installed the new counter with the 9 squares but it is not visible in the browser in this site www.drivewaycleaning.uk.com the counter remains invisible but functional its on all pages and i can see the stats in statcounter when any one visits but cannot see the actual number which i normally set to 1500 to start with ? i know its position in the bottom right hand corner because i can see the small 9 squares that represent the code and placeholder in the xara editor.

    this has only happened since the latest update for Xara pro x 16

    any help please advise much appreciated for any advice
    Kind regards
    Condor

    What Layer is your Statcounter widget on?

    condor, your link to http://www.romseyreclamtion.com/ is a no show; it has a typo.
    Your link should have been http://www.romseyreclamation.com/.
    Its working statcounter code shows as
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.statcounter.com/counter/counter_xhtml.js"></script>
    This is different to the code building up in your failing one:
    <!-- Statcounter code for Pressure Washing
    http://www.drivewaycleaning.uk.com on Xara -->
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var sc_project=12139752;
    var sc_invisible=0;
    var sc_security="1d7db0e1";
    var scJsHost = "https://";
    document.write("<sc"+"ript type='text/javascript' src='" +
    scJsHost+
    "statcounter.com/counter/counter.js'></"+"script>");
    </script>
    <noscript><div class="statcounter"><a title="Web Analytics"
    href="https://statcounter.com/" target="_blank"><img
    class="statcounter"
    src="https://c.statcounter.com/12139752/0/1d7db0e1/0/"
    alt="Web Analytics"></a></div></noscript>
    <!-- End of Statcounter Code -->
    For this, my browser flags an Error:
    (index):204 A parser-blocking, cross site (i.e. different eTLD+1) script, https://statcounter.com/counter/counter.js, is invoked via document.write. The network request for this script MAY be blocked by the browser in this or a future page load due to poor network connectivity. If blocked in this page load, it will be confirmed in a subsequent console message. See https://www.chromestatus.com/feature/5718547946799104 for more details.
    Google is reporting this but I don't think it is the problem.

    I think you have picked up the wrong script.

    Only a guess,

    Thank you Acorn sorry for the typo DUH!!
    yes i believe you are right about the wrong script
    I will try a different one i used to just grab a Dreamweaver script in the past before they started including a specific Xara script

    I tried to use other scripts from Statcounter.com and they all come out the same 9 small squares? about 50px square?
    there is a bug in the editor? just a guess?

    Kind regards

    Condor, I truly don't know as i don't use the product. I get shedloads from my SP and Cloudflare without adding any code.

    @condor

    Go to statcounter and grab and copy the code for xara.

    Go to Web properties in xara > click on Analytics and paste the tracking code.

    apply and hit ok.

    Upload to your server your website and go back to statcounter

    and Project Config, then it will check your site and confirm the code.

    I do not know why you need a counter, it is so old and out of style and why would you want people to know the numbers? I just hide it.

    Hi Behzad
    I agree but i do have finicky customers that love to see how many visitors they are getting, as they pay my wages i am happy to oblige!

    I pasted the code into the analytics as suggested. Cant see any stats for any visits this way? i am better off just leaving the invisible 9 square icon in the editor. This shows me the stats for each unique visit per page i can also make these stats available for viewing to my client through statcounter
    so i guess i will just have to put up with Xara not showing the graphic counter.

    Thanks for all the suggestions much appreciated
    Kind regards
