Default Exporting editable objects from Xara Photo & Graphic Designer

    Hi all,

I use Photo and Graphic Designer 16 to create labels for a business.
Now I need to handover that work to someone else (yet to be found).

The new designer will almost certainly be using the Adobe suite of products.

When I export a xar file as a .psd the objects within that file aren't editable in Photoshop - (they are rasterized?)
How can I export to a fully Adobe compatible format and have the all the objects editable in, say, InDesign?

That is, the new user will be able to directly edit the fonts and manipulate all the other objects in the file just as I can for a .xar file.

    Many thanks for any help,

    Jason.

Hi Jason, I've never used Adobe software, however is it possible for you to export your PGD files as .pdf files for import into Adobe whatever?

    use illustrator not photoshop
    export from xara as pdf
remember fonts will need to be installed on the computer that has the adobe software
some transparency and other effects will not transfer because the programs do it differently

    Thanks Handrawn,

Super helpful advice. I installed a trial copy of Illustrator and I can indeed edit the text in the labels readily from a pdf. Makes it much easier for me to handover my work. Much appreciated,
    Jason.
