    Dear Painter Users,

Watercolor artist and fellow Painter lover Paulo Roberto Purim and I
have agreed to start a page for Painter 7 custom Water Color Brushes,
examples, and downloadable brush files. If you'd like to participate by
contributing to this collection of Painter 7 custom Water Color brushes,
I'll be happy to add yours to the page along with a link to other
Painter 7 Water Color work you've done, and your name if you want it
    included too.

The plan is to have a central location where Painter users who are
scattered throughout the Painter Community can click a link and go to
see the progress others are making, then share their own brushes and
help themselves to any other brushes they find interesting. If you'd
like to take a look, the URL to my website's section link page is:

    http://www.pixelalley.com/pixelalley...ons-pages.html

Click the bottom link on the right side of the page (while you're there,
check out the other Painter 7 related links as well) and you can read
the image dimension and file size requirements, and how to submit your
contribution. The image can be only a few brush strokes or, if you're
like me and get carried away, it can be a small painting. Whatever you
like, as long as it demonstrates the brush.

For now, we're concentrating on Water Color brushes since they seem to
be the most challenging brushes in Painter 7 and a lot of people have
been trying to create custom brushes that come close to what the
earlier version brushes could do. That is, blend, pooling edges, smooth
paint strokes, etc. In addition, Painter 7 users are learning how to
best use the Water Color brushes in general, how to prevent black
buildup, etc. Since I just opened the page yesterday, there's only one
brush so far. Paulo, who posts to the Painter list at Topica.com and
co-moderates the Painter Forum at In Depth Discussions along with Cris
Palomino and me, has agreed to share some of his Painter 7 Water Color
brushes as soon as his work load lightens up a bit. He's made a few of
them already. Also, I'm going to contact other folks who've already
shared their brushes to see if they'd like to participate.

If you know of others who have created custom Painter 7 Water Color
brushes, please ask them to contact me at jinbrown@pixelalley.com and
tell them about the new web page at PixelAlley (URL above).

    Thanks in advance for participating.

I think what you're doing is great - especially timely with this year's release of Painter 7 (both new and old-time Painter users will have to go through the learning curve). I have been looking for just such a community (the webring I found seems defunct).

My current focus is the simulation of woodcuts without the use of Painter 7's auto-woodcut method.

To that end, I hope you create a Woodcut section at PixelAlley just like you've done for the popular watercolour brushes (I completely understand that - I love them, too!).

I look forward to the community you're building, eager to learn and share alike!

    Bless,
