Dear Xara...

Would you please set up the insertion of More Shapes from the Online Content Catalogue (OCC) to respect the designer's chosen settings for attributes carefully crafted through the use of Options > General > General Option: Give new objects most recent attributes.
I find the insertion of a dull grey sludge that removes my attribute settings more than a chore; it is sloppy.

Second point. When the OCC is not accessible, should this Insert button not then open the Local Designs gallery > Components > Print & Web Components > Shapes or Lines & Arrows?
Overall, the reconciliation of the Smart Shapes to the tried-and-tested Xara operations has not been a great success.

For example, Q: "When is an ellipse not an ellipse?" A: "When it is an Ellipse > Shape QuickShape with a Name of elipse [sic]."
Ungrouping destroys its concept of being an ellipse and fortunately gets rid of the misspelt Name.
It has the same Status Line detail but none of the Ellipse Tool controls are accessible.

Acorn
