    Default Curtiss Wright Ascender

The Curtiss Wright Ascender first flew in 1943 and had some innovative design ideas. I originally drew this XP55 about 15 years ago from an old black and white but never finished it. Found the plane drawing on an old disk I was looking through. So I thought I would finish it off as a "what if". Three were built but never performed well with the design being dropped in favor of the new jet aircraft. The last one crashing at an air show killing both pilot and 4 civilians.
