How to find templates I saved on my laptop

Hi All

I did save templates etc last year before my online update expired this year.

A month ago I had to do a fresh install of Windows 10 due to laptop issues, I did this & chose the option to save all my files/programs etc in a windows old file that is created when I did the fresh install.

I don't know how to find the templates so I can add pages or build a new site, I have Magix premium 15.

Any help much appreciated.

Dave, it they are still there, look in

Code:

%localappdata%\Xara\WebDesigner\15\Cache\designs\eng\

Copy the bold text into MS Windows Explorer, not a browser.

Hi Acorn

Thanks no luck in finding them, looks like it's going to be a struggle to retrieve! I've read on here in other post that Xara on not very good at helping with this.

From what I understand Windows automatically deletes the Windows.old folder after a month or so to free up all the space it's taking up.

Yes it does, 28 days to be precise.

Open Windows Explorer and expand 'This PC'
Click C: drive
On the Ribbon (top menu bar) click 'View' > 'Hidden Items'
Open Windows.old and drill into Users > (Account Name) > AppData > Local > Xara > WeDesigner > 15 > Cache > Designs > Eng

Copy the whole Eng folder.

Thanks so much! found that file & I'm copying it to my desktop. Can you advise where to put the folder (after copying to my desktop) so I can then access it to make changes to my website?

And how to access it once I open my website on my local machine?

Thank goodness for this forum, without it many times I have got stuck!

Thanks I have found & copied the ENG folder to the desktop, I guess I just need advice on how to access the folder from xara, so I can make changes to my website?

Where do I put this permanently to access it? & does it matter.

Are you sure you found your old folder and not the new one? It would have to be in your 'Windows.old' folder. Acorn's answer points to where you need to put it, not retrieve it.

I think you have copied your existing eng folder and not the one with the original content in it.
