Default Smart Fields replaced by another command

So am I right to assume and tried it, that Smart fields is replaced by an easier approach called Repeating objects?

behzad, Smart Fields are spawned from Xara Cloud for Teams. In time, they might mature into something of use (c.f., MS Word Quick Parts & AutoText); I am yet to be convinced.
I tackled Xara at https://www.talkgraphics.com/showthr...686-Smart-Text & https://www.talkgraphics.com/showthr...l-Smart-Fields & https://www.talkgraphics.com/showthr...s-Dialog-Boxes on their limitations and also the use of Live Copies (plus now your idea of Repeating Objects), where I uncovered another Bug (Xara Feature).

Xara will always declare that new "smart" features are a job in progress yet I find such incremental improvements from a poor starting point that always add complexity and requires a lot of redesign on our part.

I like the smart fields (except for the name they were given). Some time ago I created a print document with repeating text at different styles and sizes. It took days to do the formatting when using live copies. It even took hours now to remove all those baseline shifts, kernings and clippings when moving to smart fields.
Maybe this is a very rare case, I don't know, but the smart fields could have saved me a lot of time if they had been around back then.
I am still hoping for a mechanism to automatically import the smart field data from external files.

I think all this now gets into page layout for books etc.. I personally do not see any other use for smart fields specially in web design. Thank you for your input guys.
