Actually, I did use dMesh as a starting point for the ShamBurger. However, after spending way too much quality time on how to refine, undo, and quite frankly, the limited features in the free version, I exported something close to its only vector export—PDF—and then brought it into Xara for what I guess I'd call "retouching".

My hint for all who want to use dMesh: import a relatively small file, with clear delineations between color areas. This simplifies the task for dMesh and because your product can be vector, you can scale up the result as much as you please.

    Default Spash screen for 18

I like the art on the latest iteration a lot better than previous attempts, but being a creature of habit, I created one, all vectors and way happy with the idea that an "X" could be a disjointed set of stairs. Thanks Dali, thanks Magritte!

Why doesn't anyone do something creative with typeface choice? :(

I wanted to work backwards a little bit, so in keeping with the theme colors I chose for the v18 iteration, and a solid use of typography, I drew this abstract construct based on some work in the late, great Groboto modeling program.

It's just my own idiosyncrasy, but by putting actual art examples on a splash screen, I can immediately tell when I've screwed up and loaded the wrong version. I keep 'em loaded back to Xtreme 5, because why not? Like they take up a lot of space when a 1 TB thumb drive is half the price of the program!

I like it Gary, it looks very mechanical. I expect to see steam puffing out of it in places and little whirring and popping sounds.

Gray, thanks. I liked to use it because there was something "in motion" going on, regardless of whether it was my intention!

Boy, I try to avoid the reputation of continually generating hits, because I've not earned it!

Here are some ideas—I didn't use them all—from past versions I saw fit to mess with.

I almost 10 years, I've tried to keep some elements consistent, those I was pleased with, natch'.
