edit bitmaps using edit bitmaps with this program

Edit bitmaps using edit bitmaps with this program. So I got a picture on the screen how do I make it go to my choosen program to edit the bitmap?
I ave already setup the part in the options folder.

Do I double click the picture ?

Double clicking a photo when you are not in the Photo Tool, selects the Photo Tool so you can edit the photo using Xara Designer Pro X's integrated editing features. Double click the photo while in the Photo Tool to invoke the external editor.

Thank you both. But there is a problem. When I double click the picture opens up in affinity photo and that is fine, I work on it and then close the tab. It asks for it to be saved, but it only saves it on disk in affinity format. When going back to xara nothing has been changed.

like I said it does not always work - some programs work with this function and some do not... it looks like affinity photo does not
