Default Create a blog for museum director

I am the webmaster for this museum website ... http://museum.tv/index.htm

The museum director asked me to create a blog for her that she can write in when she feels the need and also have it archive her blog articles.

How do I create this for her in my Xara Web Designer program if she doesn't have access to the file?

    Thanks, Todd

You might be able to incorporate a blog using an iframe though many blog sites do not permit this.

Or the most direct is to set up the blog page, have the director send you the posts, and charge a small amount to refresh the content.

This may also be possible with Xara Online. Your client will need to have an account but I believe the content for a page or more can be done without having a copy of Xara.

Thanks. That last sentence about Xara Online, do you mean they use this to upload their blog content manually to me, or to add the content somehow themselves?

Gary's suggestion is fine and a popular way to do this, but I would favour a page link to a blog page not inside an iframe.

    Why?

    Pro's:
The blog will work without being inside the constraint of a fixed box of a Xara website, so you won't have scrollbars inside the iframe as well as potentially on the Xara page too (scrollbars within scrollbars).

    Con's:
You can carry over some design customisation to a dedicated blog page, but probably not all and you'll lose the menu - essentially jumping out of the Xara site.

Why not have a play and build a test website trying both methods?

I love this and it's exactly what I want. So, who is XTom and how do I find him, can he explain how I install this into Xara?

Of course, but that will also be prone to scrollbars inside scrollbars, or jumping between pages inside a Xara page.

The CMS needs to be installed onto your web server/hosting (PHP required) and then upload your websites files from Xara into the CMS as a theme. There's a pdf install guide on the support page.

Not sure what you mean about scrollbars? It doesn't use iframes.

That's good to hear. Do you charge to do the install or is this easy enough to do myself?

There's a free trial version that is pretty easy to install. If you are familiar with uploading files via FTP you should be ok but if you need any help just pop me an email on the site.
