Confused and freaked out by Xara 16 - please help!

the path to xpe has changed over theyears - I dont know if that has anything to do with your crashes..

cancel the bit about the save button - that just saves out the file to disk - the tick is there for me if when try it out, as it is for siran, so i think your xpe is not set up correctly

if you have the old xara still installed then it is possible you have two instances of xpe - one for each version and it is important that you link to the correct one for the new version

Is that "your token has expired" error?

Yes back to Xara problem - nope it's a clean install on a brand new computer. No other version of Xara there.

token expired is a forum thing
take out your manual path to xpe
close xara
reboot computer
run xara again as admin
set xpe using the utilities\options/ photo editing tab
close xara
reboot computer

if that does not work I am out of ideas

edit _ I have just seen your screenshot - you could try reinstalling/repairing the installation [and then running as admin]

Sorry for the double post!

I can't choose XPE bec. as soon as I do, the program hard crashes. Completely unresponsive. Drch. I guess I could try and re-install it again, but I fear the same thing will happen - upon first load, it comes back with "no bitmap editor configured."

I remember a time when (Corel)Xara just worked straight out of the box ...

I can confirm that there is no tick if you open XPE as an external editor via specifying the path.
I suggest to try re-installing and to start the installer as administrator.
