Default Nav Bar with Link and Menu

    Hello,

In XDP X V.16 on Windows 10 computer.

On my top Horizontal NavBar, when I add sub menu and link to pages in this same template, the following error pops up:

Warning: You have at least one button with both a link and a menu. On touch-only devices, visitors to your site won't be able to use the menu, because touching the button will invoke the button link. Therefore it is recommended that you don't have links on buttons that have menus.

Question: Is there a way for me to have a NavBar with sub menu to work on touch-only devices?

    Thank you,

    Sue
P.S. In error, I asked this under a different category. I did not know how to delete or move my original post.

Sue, it is a long-winded way of not saying remove any links on the actual buttons and only have links from the sub-menu.

If you need the button link to still exist you should create a top-of-the-list sub-menu entry with that link and possibly follow with a horizontal separator.

Braden, I don't know why you are apologising. Any and all engagement is better than sitting stumb.

You're right, I suppose I just got a little nervous about your post.

The last thing I want to add to this forum is confusion or a stumbling block.

By the way, I've seen a lot of your posts. They've helped me quite a bit.

So thank you for all your contributions.

Hello, I am back at it. This forum is a great resource.

Braden, thank you so much for taking time to make a video. How kind. Tutorials in video work great.

Acorn, thank you for your instruction. I do still want the button link. Will you please give me a little more direction? I don't quite understand:

"If you need the button link to still exist you should create a top-of-the-list sub-menu entry with that link and possibly follow with a horizontal separator."

As always, the help is much appreciated.

    Sue

Acorn is referring to not having the main navbar button do anything other than trigger the sub menu. Using Projects, 1, 2, 3 and 4 as an example.

Projects would show on the main navbar with no URL link
Project 1 would link to Project 1 page
Project 2 would link to Project 2 page
    Project 3........

This would have the effect of tapping/clicking the Projects button which would only show the sub menus.

I'm not Acorn but since I am here, unless you have a specific page, For example About Us, which provides general information then two sub pages, for example Our Background and Our Mission, then the button on the nav bar does not need a link. But if you have a top layer page About Us as described, with two sub pages then you can add About Us to the sub menu along with Our Background and Our Mission.

    Does this make sense?
