Xara registered for .xar files or not?

Does anyone know where this option can be, both, switched off and on?

I think you can right click on a XAR file and use Open this file with... and click Always open with (until you want to change this)

I tried that, Gary.
What's really weird is that even though I've navigated to where the .exe file is for Designer Pro X, it still opens the file with XDP11.

So, that didn't work.

Maybe someone knows where the registry edit is for this.

there are registry keys in

….options\CheckAssociations


which turn on and off the check, for each version

Xara [the company that knows best] tends to call its .EXE files the same for each version and this seems to mean windows only sees one instance of it, which is why you cannot change it through windows

you will have to juggle the registry keys to get it to check for the other version so it will switch

[unless you really want to hack the registry which might have other implications]
