    My first job right out of art school was in Detroit. In 1967. The year of the riots. My next job was working for the government (I was drafted) and I did not return to Detroit.

    I agree.

    I love the small house picture - it's beautiful.
    There's a picture of a huge window that has exquisite detail and they later stuck air conditioning/heating units in front of it - the ugliness wounding the intent.
    The glorious mural.

    A young nation at last rescuing a treasure that it almost threw away.

    I hope the regeneration continues.
