I just finished formatting my wife's new novel, The Three-Day Departure of Mrs. Annette Zinn by Mary E. Carter. The book is now published and available on Amazon.
As you all have heard me gross a dozen times, separate left and right pages, plus master pages would have made this project so much easier. On the other hand, I know Designer Pro and I work quickly and confidently within the program.
The book tells the story of a woman who dies at age 95 and spends three days reviewing her life before finally moving into the afterlife. This is based on a book, The Soul by Rabbi Adin Even-Israel Steinsaltz in which he writes:
I have included the cover, one of the three section pages and a spread. I used Sabon MT and Sabon MT SCOfF (Caps and Small Caps). The font for the section titles and drop caps is Aire Bold Pro. The free version does not have the swash caps and the font will not embed in a production PDF file.In the corpus of Jewish mystical literature, it is said that for three days after the death of the body, the soul is still hovering close to the body, so to speak, and does not completely depart from it. In short, the soul requires some time to accustom itself to its new situation.
I was able to work on the entire book in one document.
