Detecting non-flash browsers

Hello:

Inquiring about a simple Javascript that may be used to insert a static image in place of a Flash element that will not appear in browsers without Flash. Basically:

If IE,
Then FLASH
Else
staticimage.jpg
End If

something along those lines.
