Joroho came up with a great bevel technique in the Xara Gallery. Then John Clements said it could be used to simulate wire wheels.

One thing lead to another and Xara3D4 was the natural place to end up.

You didn't think I would leave it alone without animating it did you?

Oops, file was too large. Some more editing is in order.

Not too bad, Soquili, but the tire appears to need a little ballancing

    Hi Gary,

Except for the shiny wheels, it rolls like the tires on my old resmobile.

Maybe if I did the animation entirely in XaraX so the shadows wouldn't rotate it would be balanced.

I'll try that when I get the time.

What would happen if you animated only the tire/wheel, and not the lights? Perhaps this would give a better idea of rotation. It looks great, regardless.

    Hi Cork,

The entire wheel is a texture loaded onto the shape. There lights are not rotated, but the highlights and shadows from the .jpg used for the texture are rotated by Xara3D. I've tried animating it using Xara X but it doesn't look very good. I must be doing something wrong. I'll continue to try and hopefully get something worthy of being posted.
