Default setting default on line spacing

Default on a new document is always 120%, what if I want it to be %100?

OK, I think this will work. Select the Text Tool and don't click on the page.

Set the line spacing as you want (and it does not have to be percent by the way). Then switch to the Selector Tool by pressing F2.

That said, I think this will only work for the current session. I tried saving a template with that setting and it seems to default to 100% the next time you open a new document.

I have to say that 120% is a STUPID default for text. Why not default to 100% of what the original font designer thought appropriate?

It is not the font designer who determines the line spacing, but the typesetting program or typesetter. The font designer only defines the glyph length.

Could you setup text styles to control the leading you require?

I think 120% has been, and still is, the default starting value for programs like InDesign and MS Word.
