    Default UK Calendar

In the UK the first week of June has turned into the last week of May. Daylight savings gone too far?

Hum... I find it all painful enough for our British friends. Besides and fortunately, we're not supposed to engage in political discussions on these forums.

    indeed...

a passing remark is usually ok, as long as it is reasonable

whole threads on the political, even if humourous in intent, are taboo..

It's a play on words and a coincidental fact that the months align. Nothing political about it other than the persons job, which is totally irrelevant to the comment. It also doesn't evoke any discussion, political or otherwise.

If it helps, the quip came from my sister who lives in the UK, so they aren't as sensitive as you may think.

it risks a heated discussion of the sort the forum admin does not want

play on words or not of course it is political - what don't you understand about brexit that you think it is not way over ther in Auss?

    [see it has already begun]

PS - one sister does not a nation make...

you make a sweeping assertion like that based on very little, [no disrespect to your sister], you deserve what you get

I appreciate the clarification, Chris. It being such a hot issue in Europe, I suspected yours to be a political statement. As a matter of fact, this quip is in the news quite a bit as it is used as a political (read: dismissive) statement.

Is it really? And here's me thinking my sis was being quick with her wit. Now I'll have to think of some way to show my disappointment and encourage original content instead.

Still don't see how the quip shows political affiliation though. Probably because I have no interest in politics in the same way I have no interest in sports or becoming a wine connoisseur (yes, I Googled connoisseur for the spelling).

Let's just keep it as a quip, and not build it into a political discussion.
Politics divides many, and that's the one thing we do not need at TalkGraphics.
