    I just tried this, I linked to the text Send email, and when I preview in all browsers I just see the pointing hand cursor.

    If you create a graphic, a button say, then it is possible the email will show (though you could prevent this by converted the text to shapes for the button).

    There is one downside. Not all email programs will automatically open the default email program. So to get around this, you can create a button with the email address, convert the text to shapes and link the button to the email address. The address with still be encoded and if the visitor cannot get the link to open her/his email program, then the visitor can see the address and manually enter it.

    When I have used it, I link it to a word, and then it works fine. You can't see the email address, so that the bots don't spam me.

    I have never used a button and converted the button to a shape and link it. Any directions on that? And as long as the bots can't grab the email addy, or I am not spammed, I'm fine with it. This is just the way I learned a long time ago to prevent the spam.

    Here is the code generated for the attached button. The text on the button has been converted to editable shapes. And this code is good for this generic button only. I just post it to show that the email address is not listed.

    <a href="&#109;&#97;&#105;&#108;&#116;&#111;&#58;&#10 9;&#121;&#110;&#97;&#109;&#101;&#64;&#100;&#111;&# 109;&#97;&#105;&#110;&#46;&#99;&#111;&#109;" onclick="return(xr_nn());">
    <img class="xr_rn_ xr_ap" src="index_htm_files/3.png" alt="" title="" onmousemove="xr_mo(this,0,event)" style="left:206px;top:52px;width:194px;height:60px ;"/>
    </a>
    <div id="xr_xo0" class="xr_ap" style="left:0; top:0; width:640px; height:100px; visibility:hidden; z-index:3;">
    <a href="" onclick="return(false);" onmousedown="xr_ppir(this);">
    </a>
    </div>

    Sue, the source will show all the pages' code when it is a Supersite.

    Acorn, I did not make it a supersite. Making one page at a time to replace the current one. But in looking at the code, it seemed that it was more than the 1 page code!

    That's perfect! I like how it works. So how do I convert text to an editable shape?

    What you say here is very interesting.
    My question is a little different, but somewhat related to the original post.

    I belong to a business message board and in one thread they were talking about how to keep from getting spam from the email that's listed on one's website.
    I actually get very little spam through the email that's on my website. (I get more from my other emails that I use signing on to other websites) I figured that I didn't get much spam because my website doesn't get much visitors, but I guess that wouldn't matter because the spam bots scour the web regardless.

    Anyhow, one person the the other message board mentioned email obfuscation and had a link to a site where you enter your email and it makes up a code snippet to replace your "mailto:" code that the spam bots won't easily recognize, but let's real people see it and click it to send an email. So I thought I would give it a try.

    When I opened my "Contact Me" page in Notepad to edit the actual HTML, I didn't see any "mailto:" code anywhere so that I could replace it. I did find where the code is that Xara is using to send email, but it doesn't have the "mailto:" term. (I also saw that I have the same things twice in the HTML, which confused me at first. But then I realized it must be one version is for my desktop site and the other version is for the mobile site.)

    So, my question is - does that mean that Xara does encode (and thereby obfuscate) the email address? And does that make it harder for the spam bots to grab your email?
