    you can say that again...

I don't really because the demise of Flash as a browser renderer (which is what it is) is more about software politics than technical issues and Flash was dead when Jobs protected the appstore from the sophisticated applications that Flash was capable of.
apple did a similar thing to wnidows users when it pulled supprt for windows quicktime - I have to have quicktime installed if I want ToonBoom to import/export, render on the hoof in an unrestricted manner, but I would rather not....

... just catching up on the US Supreme Court ruling upholding the decision that consumers can sue Apple if they think they have been overcharged in the app store as a result of 'sqeezing out' competition...

I think the mega bucks come from console games. We buy quite a lot of apps (games mostly) and generally they are pretty cheap. Incredibly cheap in comparison with any console.

Apple isn't much of a software producer so the real problem is the royalties that developers pay - I think it's about 30%. No wonder Jobs wouldn't let Flash anywhere near the IOS platform!

could be though that the apple is becoming over-ripe...

and then there's whats app - security hack that the phone user doesn't even need to do anything to initiate... encryption is super secure eh.. well apparently not

though the hacks appear to have been targeted..... [this time round]

It's very greedy in many ways. In some ways it can be generous.
