standard fonts not showing in Designer Pro X

Can anyone tell me why standard fonts are not showing up in Designer Pro X? All fonts are available in any other program, including previous versions of Xara, but when I try to use a standard font - for example Arial the only versions shown as available are Italic, Bold and Bold Italic. When I check in the Fonts gallery they are not showing up either - see the 2 screen clips. Is it just me or is the Pro X version behaving oddly? Have been using a wide variety of Xara products since they first came on the scene and have never encountered such basic problems before (still haven't solved my previouis uploading problem).

Have solved the problem by emptying the fonts cache and restarting to repopulate the fonts, and the fonts have now reappeared, no idea why it happened in the first place, though. Feel I'm spending a lot of time with this shiny new version just solving problems that didn't occur previously.
