Behzad would like to see a Pop-Up Layer option under Web Animation. I'd like to see a simple colour change option there too, mainly for quick and simple mouse over.

behzad, one is for a click action; the other is for a mouse over action.

There is logic in what Behzad is saying. In essence there are two places where the click for pop-up could be...where it is now under 'Link' in Web Properties, but it would also be logical to have it under 'Click/Touch' in Web Animations.

Xara in all it's clothing has a LOT of options and it would be a mammoth, if not impossible, task to please everyone when it comes to things like aesthetics and logic because everyone is different. My refference to having a colour option in Web Animation is purely because I never use the Mouse Over layer. When I think of link identification my brain sends me to the animation setting. Navbars are another place I never venture. Others will think me weird, but I find it logical.

Acorn sorry I needed to explain more. Sure one is for click and the other for rollover but shouldn't the click one be in the animation section for ease of reference. Btw HI Egg

This brings up an issue that has come up numerous times recently. The entire product needs to be redesigned from the ground up. As new features have been added, the additions are patched on opposed to features logically integrated into the UI. Many actions are hidden (for example, the need to right click on the Aspect Ratio icon to disable Smart Transform). In regard to this post, the links need be designed as a combined Links menu as opposed to one for clicks and one for mouse over. Each menu needs to be studied and evaluated and designed to work logically and intuitively.

The product, over 20 years old is beyond patches and fixes. Every feature and function needs to be reevaluated and designed to match the original UI design concept, which was simple, intuitive, and efficient.

The question remains, whether this is something Xara really has any interest in doing. I am hopeful the answer is yes.

Nice words Gary but if there are so many fixes in Dear Xara that has been ignored where would they get the man power to do it. Imagine how messy it would get people not finding what they been used to. I think by us finetuning what xara offers with suggestions, xara should take it and run with it.
