    Question Google Map Widget

Any advice on why the widget wont work?

I get the following pop up:

Unable to find the HTML code for the widget on the widget site or on the clipboard.

-There are two variations to the Google Maps UI. These instructions refer to the new style. You should be prompted to switch to the new style Google map if you are still seeing the old style (without the settings button referred to below).
    - Search for a location using the search bar or click on the button labelled get directions.
    - Enter your start and end address if you require a map displaying directions and click on on the search icon.
    - Adjust map to desired center and zoom level.
    - In the top left corner, click the main menu.
    - Click Share or embed map.
    - At the top of the box that appears, choose the “embed map” tab.
    - Choose the size you want, then copy the code.
    - Click the Insert button below to add the widget to your page.

    Yes, follow the Help advice.

You will not have copied the Embed Code.
    The Widget works well.

I think something has changed with Google and I also tried Bing maps. You used to be able to generate an embed code which you could add to a placeholder.

But this does not appear to be an option any more unless you sign into an account.

So no code is generated in the Google Map widget to copy to the clipboard which has to be done before you can click Insert.

OK With Share, in Bing you can copy the embed code and paste it into a placeholder. But it will not copy and Insert.

Gary, we possibly cross-posted but my Chesham, B9 maps did not need any sign in, as indicated by the blue Sign In button, top right.

The Embed in the Bing Maps opens an Explorer (!) window, underneath your current browser, and you have to give it permission to use your Clipboard.
If you copy its code then go back to the Xara Widget and press Insert, it works.
