Xara already packages all the images and content into a XAR file.
If you have linked external content then that is stored in a <filename>_xar_files folder. so you would have to zip this and the XAR file.

Am I am in saying if you open a xara file on a computer that does not have all the fonts used installed, then you will get a warning message; not sure of the implications of that though, never been an issue for me

    handrawn, the manual states:
Xara Designer Pro X stores the character shapes of all the fonts used in your document. This means if you give someone else your design file, or transfer the file to another computer, the text will still look exactly right, even if the correct fonts are not installed on that computer.
    and
Some fonts do not permit embedding in a document or website. Designer Pro detects such fonts and will show you a separate alert if you attempt to use any such fonts in your website document. You should change to a different font that is either web safe, a Google font or a font that does permit embedding.
If you open the file's Document Properties, you will see the fonts list and their embedding level:
    1. Installable - the most permissive level. Allows the font to be embedded in the document and installed permanently on the guest computer. 2. Editable - Allows the font to be embedded in the document but only allows it to be used temporarily on the system.
    3. Print and Preview - Allows the font to be embedded in the document but only for printing and preview purposes.
    4. Restricted - The font cannot be embedded in a document.
At any point, if there is a concern, one can convert the text to Editable Shapes, losing the ability to edit the text (and making a website a far less friendly place).
