Default Photo and Graphic Designer vs. Designer Pro X

    Hello Xara enthusiasts,
I just purchased Xara Photo and Graphic Designer and am loving it.
I went with PGD instead of Xara Designer Pro X because I wasn't really
concerned with page layout and web creation. I was mainly interested
in the vector offering but more than happy to accept the bit-map material.
But I am wondering if I missed out on any additional vector/bit-map (mostly
vector) material included with Xara Designer Pro X that's omitted from
PGD. Can anymore point out any such vector material if there is any. So
I'm asking for any information that will make me regret my decision
to with PGD . And if that's the case is there a way to upgrade to Pro
from PGD or do you bite the bullet and go for the $299?
    Thanks for any help,
    steve

Xara Photo and Graphic Designer will cater for all your vector and bitmap needs. There is nothing missing from P&GD at all in terms of vector tools.
Designer Pro is a waste of money if you already have P&GD.

The red crosses in the XP&GD column in https://www.xara.com/us/designer-pro/compare/ says otherwise. The price differential is another matter.
If you have XP&GD, there is a migration path to XDPX. If you even ask Magix, I am sure it will accommodate your needs.

What Bob wrote is true. Unless one is creating certain types of documents, one doesn't need column breaks, TOCs, etc. And of course, if one isn't creating web sites, one can eliminate a bunch of those red crosses right from the start.

If one is drawing/creating assets for other applications or web sites, X&GD is sufficient. I am very pleased I purchased a license for P&GD. Over the last X # of releases, P&GD has had more of XDP's vector stuff integrated to the point of being very useful for me. Enough so I think I'll pick up another license for my wife.

a while back P&G did not have what for me were essentials such as user definable keystrokes and a full set of selection options... these days i believe it does..

P&G also now has PDF/x export

for vector asset creation, as mike said, I don't see much difference at all

    oh,

    $44.99 is a bargain.

as i understand the red crosses, it would be totally ok for me.
    and so cheap...

    Thanks to everyone for responding.
My biggest regret is that I didn't enter the world of vector graphics with PGD
    to start with
