    Question Navbars text colour

I'm new to this so be gentle with me and explain in easy to understand terms - thanks.
I am trying to change the color of the text on a navbar and have wasted far too much time trying to do this.
There has got to be a simple method which is hidden from me.

    Version 15, 32 bit.

Double click on the nav bar to open the Navigation Bar Properties menu.

If Adjust Buttons to Width of Labels is checked, un-check this option. (When you are done editing, you can repeat this step and check it again)

    Close the menu.

Hold down the Ctrl key and click on the rectangle for the first button (usually HOME). You can also Ctrl click on the text to change its color.

Edit the color. The color will change for the other buttons automatically. This color is for the MouseOver buttons.

Open the Page and Layer Gallery (tab on right side of screen)

Click the arrow to open the page into Layers.

Click the [S] icon next to the MouseOff layer to isolate this layer. Repeat to change the color of the rectangle and or text.

When you are done editing click the S icon again.
