    sure are off

looks to me like you want a hex value of 9e5200 or if that's too dark ae5f09 say - colour picking from a low res continuous tone image is hit and miss - experiment with the colour editor / colour picker [I don't use the xara tools you mention]

Use the color picker (the eyedropper) to sample the deep red on your logo.

I'm missing a piece of the jigsaw. If you created the logo, you have the .xar file for said logo and you obviously have the picture of the young lady.
    1. Open the logo .xar
    2. Import picture
    3. Select the area you want to change the colour of
    4. Use the colour picker to change the selected area
    5. Repeat as required

I obviously didn't have the .xar of the logo so I quickly redrew the areas to show you.

Bingo Chris M *sigh*, I didn't create the logo. A friend of mine did it and she did it in photo shop. She sent me PSD files. This is the reason why I can't use the eyedropper as someone else suggested. I've tried that won't work.

so you need to draw the logo? - or at least draw round the parts you want to change and recolour those shapes, group with logo image and make bitmap copy?

[BTW: looks like I got the colours the wrong way round last time , sorry about that]

I redrew the lot using the shape tool (F4). Resize, reshape, recolour to your hearts content.

You should probably recreate the whole logo yourself in Xara, then you can wade in at a moments notice in God mode.

    And I carnt spel Samurai.

True, but in my defence he'll probably look at it and say "that's rubbish, I'll do it myself". It also looks like he's in a hurry to upload his main passion, music. You're right though; he should definitely redo the whole thing himself just for the learning of it.

the irony is, I would fiddle with it myself because I never got into the CAD based construction based on nodes, that is 'vector drawing' - I'm a freehand artist, 'expression' rather than 'precision'; xara is not good at freehand in this way - if we had 24 inch cintiq, 32GB memory, multicore proccessors and 64bit OS 16 years ago, I doubt I would even have tried

Thanks a lot Chris. I've already used what sent. I was insanely helpful in getting a scheme that worked on the flyer. I didn't use the orange instead went with the blue. How did you retrace this? F4 you say?
